What is Google Safe Browsing and Is Your Site Listed

Google Safe Browsing is a constantly updated blocklist of unsafe websites. It powers the full-page red warnings in Chrome, Android, Firefox, and Safari. If your domain lands on it, browsers warn visitors away and your traffic can collapse overnight — even if you did nothing wrong yourself.

How sites get listed

• Malware: your site was hacked and now serves malicious code.
• Social engineering / phishing: pages that imitate a login or trick users.
• Unwanted software: deceptive downloads or injected ad scripts.

Compromised legitimate sites are listed all the time — a vulnerable plugin gets exploited, attackers inject a redirect, and Google flags the domain.

How to check

If you're listed

1. Find and remove the malicious code — often an injected script or a backdoored file.
